This weeks listening selection is brought to you by Acoustic Tuesday fan and guitar geek, Steven W. He says this of the artist for this week:
Excellent song writing, and the lead singer (Sarah Vos) has one of the best voices I’ve heard…incredibly full of emotion and passion. Definitely one of my favorite bands to just sit and listen to!
Listening to this band is like taking a nice relaxing and warm sonic bath. The writing is clever and the group plays in a way that is so supportive of the song. The instrumentation is subtle, the vocals are gentle and when it’s all combined you have acoustic music magic in every form.
Dead Horses are a band that calls Wisconsin home. The band is made up of Sarah Vos on vocals and Daniel Wolff on the upright bass.
The songs these two play are extremely effective in painting vivid pictures, and the lyrics alone are a study in simple, concise, and impactful words. Sarah’s vocal delivery feels almost secretive and full of emotion. When listening to the album it truly feels like it is just you and the band… and somehow you are privy to the secrets they are telling only you.
Sarah’s voice is the standout element of this outfit in my opinion. She emotes in such a strong way and uses dynamics to express her lyrics in a masterful fashion.
This band is an absolute treat to listen to and I strongly recommend spinning their newest record if you want to be taken on an emotional acoustic music journey that will leave you wanting more and more from this acoustic outfit.
