Dylan’s 1963 Martin D-28 sold to an anonymous buyer for $396,000 in November of 2017. This guitar holds a significant place in Dylan's personal history as well as music history in general as it was the guitar played during the Concert for Bangladesh in addition to one of his main instruments during his Rolling Thunder Revue. Larry Cragg, who served as Dylan’s guitar repairman, put up the guitar for auction. Cragg had purchased the D28 from Dylan in 1977 for the whopping sum of $500.
