I just put a set of Ernie Ball Aluminum Bronze stings on my Taylor 110ce. I’ve never used anything but Elixir Nanowebs on it. These are definitely “crisp” and surprised me by being brighter than the Nanowebs. But then my Elixirs were 3 months old with daily playing, so I may not be making a fair comparison. I don’t expect them to last as long as Elixirs, but then I only paid half as much. Like them so far. We’ll see how they break in and last.
I put a set of these on my Taylor 414CE R a few weeks ago and I’m simply blown away. This already great sounding guitar was literally transformed to a whole new level and I’ve since put them on two other guitars with similar results. I have five guitars and I can’t wait to try them on the other two. Problem is, what do I do with all the Elixir and D’addarios I have laying around now.
