#4 NV Tone Pickup
Do you use an internal mic for your acoustic guitar pickup system? I’m normally not a fan of internal mic’s. It can be difficult to represent the true tone of the guitar, not to mention potentially picking up body noise and even some external noise. But when NV Tone reached out and asked if I would like to try their internal mic system, I said: “Why not?” Watch the show to see the results.

#3 What’s On the Turntable This Week?
This week’s featured acoustic artist is Acoustic Tuesday Viewer and Tony’s Acoustic Challenge Member, Maggie Pope. And not just Maggie, but her band Under The Oak. Maggie is living her BEST Acoustic Life. Managing a large family and still making the acoustic guitar a major part of her life. I think you’ll like what you hear…

Hi Tony!
John from Colorado Springs.
Good day Tony and Noah. This show makes me smile every Tuesday, no matter how my day is going. Actually I find myself laughing a lot to. Keep up the awesome work of spreading the guitar gospel.
Jim from Oshawa (Canada)
#SmallWin- It has been about a year, and I have made little progress on my guitaring journey beyond basic cords. I started TAC two weekends ago (that is not the #Smallwin), and, I was complimented that I sounded better (archived WU and KC lessons). That is NOT the #SmallWin, either. The last week of February was the “Tim Burtonesq” lessons, and on Tuesday it was reported it sounded like I had regressed. Finally, Thursday, a family member came in during my practice to find out what had gone wrong. After watching a while I was told that I sounded just like the Backing Track for .”Veruca Salt.” THAT IS DEFINITELY THE #SMALLWIN!!!!! To my family, I sounded exactly as “bad” (their take) as the Backing Track. (Not a bunch that lives in the minor keys world of music, obviously.) @NDGuitar
Loved the Tone Talk section.

Frankophone – A French-speaking person, especially in a region where two or more languages are spoken.
a french speaker is a francophone
The Waterloo line from Collings is a great line of guitars. I have the WL-12 and WL-JK. The one that is on my radar is the WL-S Deluxe really nice looking and sounding. https://www.waterlooguitars.com/wl-s-deluxe/
Tone Talk, big YES from me!!!!
TT Question, what do you think is a must for an acoustic guitar DI for use on stage?
Congrats on #80! Thanks so much from Cincinnati,
Gordon
#Tontalk We liked it. Very informative and helpful.
Name was mispelled. Should be Rigg. No BIGGIE,but….
Viewing from Georgetown, TX. Love the ToneTalk segment. For your next one: Which do you prefer as a pickup system for your acoustic guitars, a passive one like a K&K Pure Mini, or an active one like an L.R.Bggs Anthem? What is your rationale for each? Thanks. Rick #ToneTalk
Tone talk rocks!
Way big thumbs up on featuring something from your Guitarsenal !!!
Most of the links to this show in my email result in a “page not found” to this show, 80.
Love the TonTalk, and the Ton-Guitarsenal , BUT don’t give up finding something new.

Hi, This is Al M (alfun) from BC, Canada. A francophone is speaks the French language, an anglophone speaks the English language, a hispanophone speaks Spanish and on and on. Here is a link that explains it.

Love the show and watch it every week. Am also a TAC member and Fretboard Wizard alumni. TAC and this show keeps my guitar spirit alive. Thank you/ Merci/Gracias
TD and T J C got it right, A French-speaking person may be referred to as Francophone in both English and French. Here in Canada we are officially a bilingual country with the two official languages being English and French. Typically a French Canadian living in the province of Quebec cold be referred to as a Francophone.
Hea guys, good show. and Tone talk is a good thing, until the questions get to corny. Hello from Fla.
Tone talk very cool.
#TONETALK Absolute love this addition to your great show. What a great forum to address question from the Accoustic World. Great show and keep up the great work.
Hdawg from Neville Island PA.
Hello Tony and Noah, in regard to the question on visually impaired people and tuning;
Strike the tuning fork and place it lightly on the string over the fret. (This creates a harmonic note on the fork.) If using an A tuning fork, 5th fret, E fork the 12th fret. The pitch of the fork will peek wherever the note is on the string. Adjust the string whether flat or sharp until the pitch is directly over the A (or E) fret. Repeat on the A note of each string to tune the guitar.
Great show, PJ
I play the riff from “I dig a pony” Beatles to verify my guitar tuning. If a D chord sounds good, it’s got to be in tune.
Love the ToneTalk.
#tonetalk ,yeah,it’s great!
Love the Tone Talk so please keep as a weekly feature. Also, thanks for recommending Unsung Treasure, it was my first exposure to David Bromberg. What an amazing talent he is and the movie was great. Can’t imagine why I never heard of him before now. I really don’t live under a rock Tony.
francophone means french speaking
Francophone — a person whose native language is French (speaks French) —- French is the official language of the Province of Quebec, Canada. Franco (French) Phone (speak).
Good show today. I enjoyed the “Tone Talks” segment and think it should be kept in the line up. It’s a great Q&A session that I’m sure provides more answers than questions asked. Sharing your guitarsenal also is great. You reinforced the reality that often a great guitar is not necessarily a new or high end guitar. Tonality, timbre, and intonation are more important than the name on the headstock. Thanks again for a great show.

P.S.
I am currently working on a video on mnemonic devices for hear musical intervals. This helps the individual with determining key, chords, melody, etc. When finished, I will send it to you to preview before posting.
Here’s an idea for a segment of the show. It’s one I do at the beginning of every show. It is called “Guess what Tony’s T Shirt Says.”
#ToneTalk I’m a beginning player and have made a playbook of all my favorite songs to play. My question is this: I enjoy playing all of these songs…some are more difficult than others but I know it does me good to try to play them as best I can but… Should I be learning these by heart one at a time or just have a good time reading from my book. I feel so good when I play the songs while seeing the chords, but when asked to play a song “off the cuff”, I can’t do it because I haven’t memorized the song. P.S. Love Tone Talk and all the good news your bring every Tuesday!! You have such a fun personality and I love your song choices that your share.
Keep the Tone Talk!
#smallwins
Spent the evening drinking Ardbeg 10 and trying to learn the Tom Waits song “November” on a tenor guitar. I’m starting to get the song down and the scotch is delicious! Thanks for the tip Noah! And sorry Tony.
# small win (also you know you’re a guitar geek when) you take your guitar to a luthier, leave it and walk out with a brand new guitar!
Definite thumbs up on TonTalk from Toasty Tucson!
