Starting with a soft breeze…. let’s drift right into some accessories. A few episodes ago I featured Josh Turner’s recipe for Nick Drake’s tone and he had a very cool armrest on his guitar and someone asked about it…
Lo, and behold I found a company (whose strings I have enjoyed for some time) that makes some stellar acoustic accessories.
John Pearse, also known as Breezy Ridge instruments has some fabulous accessories to offer; from straps to strings and picks to… you guessed it… beautiful armrests. Although the website isn’t cutting edge they have some really outstanding things to check out.
I would definitely look at their armrests as well as their bridge pin offerings, but along with that be sure to check out fast turtle picks. These picks are nice and beefy and have a comfy dimple for your thumb to rest in. They give you great tone and are very natural feeling… definitely a tonal experiment waiting to happen.

Hey Tony! Love your videos man, watch them all the time. I couldn’t help but to notice a mistake in this video though. The “fast turtle” picks aren’t the ones that you described and showed in the video. Those are the Buffalo horn picks. The fast turtle picks are a strange shape and have a casein look to them with no dimple. Just wanted to throw that out there, I’d hate people to pick up the wrong thing because the fast turtle picks are friggin awesome
