#4 Martin’s Authentic Acoustic Marquis Guitar Strings
I was excited to hear about Martin’s newly revamped Marquis Guitar String selection, so… I ordered them. Revamped, repackaged, and improved is what the word on the street is. So, in today’s episode of Acoustic Tuesday, I’ll share with you my findings.

#3 What’s On the Turntable This Week?
This week I’m listening to Michael Watts. Recommended by Eddie’s own Matt Chulka, he says Michael is not only an articulate gentleman of the highest caliber but also a ridiculous player. I concur. You will not be disappointed.
A true gentleman with fine taste for high end acoustic guitars, and ridiculously talented.

#2 Gorgomyte Cloth
I recently featured the GHS Fingerboard Care Kit. A great tool for that once a year deep clean. This product is for more regular use of polishing your frets and fretboard. Not a super deep clean, but a great touch up cleaning whenever you feel your guitar needs it.
#1 5 Inexpensive Tonal Experiments
Playing the guitar is all about having fun. And whether you feel like you’re in a rut or not, these fun and simple tone experiments will help get your creativity pumping. Plus, if you happen to feel that your acoustic guitar is limited in what kinds of tone you can get from it, these tips will show you what different tones your acoustic guitar is capable of producing. You might be surprised…
mornin gents looking good
#You know you’re a guitar geek when: you find yourself screaming at the cameraman during a tv performance and he comes almost to the headstock but not enuf to see the maker.
You go No!!
Small win: Introduced fellow sailor, who is learning acoustic guitar, to Tony’s Acoustic Life. It will be life changing for him.
Noah cast strength is not even legal in Scotland. Though I did have a wee dram of 18y Oban at the factory when I was there. Ask if we could buy it and that is when I found out it is illegal. Cast strength really only available here in the states.
#ToneTalk playing I shot the Sheriff this week and trying to get my head around a drumming fill in that song done by congas. Maybe a little Tommy or Kaki King segment on percussion use on the guitar.
Thanks as always from Cincinnati,
Gordon
Thanks for show # 81 .loved your dad’s jeans story.he must really love his jeans.and you know what, those are probably the best jeans to wear, because he loves his jeans, thanks for this week’s advise,on picks, capos, and picks, and different strings,i agree to experiment with all these fixtures,it can make different sounds on the guitar.very true, loved your class this week.and Noah’s whiskeys.so funny, but nice to know.i am not a alcohol drinker at all.i am a diabetic,so I can’t.but I do love cold beer in the Florida heat.but I love to learn about different alcohols.i like it.the Joan biaze guitar is beautiful.but to pricey.see you in show #82.thank you.!!💡👍😂🍺🍺🍺☕️💕💋
You guys are a hoot. Really loved the show, and especially the tips on how to change the sound of your guitar. I’m definitely going to give the free tips a try this week – use my capo up high, experiment with the different picks I already have and experiment with where I strum. Just started getting serious with TAC and am having fun! Loved your dad’s jeans story – you had me laughing out loud!
I still don’t know crap about your new Martin strings. I’ve already seen purple rain.
#ToneTalk Hello! First, I really love the show, I’ve been there since the AT1. I’d love to see you talk about 3/4 guitars. As a small woman (147 cm or 4.82 ft), I only feel at ease with these. However, I noticed that my options are limited when I go to guitar shops. Always the same names : Baby Taylor, Taylor GS Mini, Martin Dr Junior or Little Martin. Do you have other brands/models to point out? (Sorry in advance for my poor English) Cheers from France
#youknowyouareaguitargeekwhen you sit through watching a whole song you really don’t like on Austin City Limits, just to catch a glimpse of the headstock so you can see what guitar the guy’s playing. With wife’s eyes rolling, then you rewind a couple times to freeze-frame that perfect camera pan moment of view!
You know you’re a guitar geek when you can use Tony’s suggestion to experiment with alternate tunings as a segue to buying another guitar so you don’t have to constantly change your guitars tuning.
#youknowyouraguitargeek When you are going through airport security and they ask “Anything in your pocket” You answer No …..pass through the scanning machine and get sent to secondary and pull a guitar pick from your pocket.
Cheers Caribsailor
>>>Tony, How would you compare the Elixir “…Web” strings, Nanoweb, Polyweb, Optiweb, to the new Martin Authentic Acoustic strings, to include sound and fingering?
Thank you.
John
>>>Hi Tony, John again. What gauge string do you prefer on your acoustic Guitars? Do you bend the strings much while playing?
Thank you.
