#4 Play Guitar in Open-D
This lesson on open tunings really helped me to break out of an acoustic guitar rut. This will unlock a massive amount of creativity and exploration on your guitar. Learn about my initial hesitations to alternate tuning, and how I overcame those! I’ll share a guide with you that includes three easy steps to breaking through any fears you may have in alternate tuning.

#3 What’s On the Turntable This Week?
This week’s featured acoustic artist is Christie Lenee. Christie is an incredibly talented guitar player. In 2017 she won the International Finger Style Guitar Championship at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield KS. Christie has been recommended to me numerous times, I’m glad I finally checked her out!

#2 Picker’s Grip Review
When I first started flatpicking my pick would spin constantly. I hated the feeling that I wasn’t overly solid on my pick. This product would have helped me in those frustrations. Check out this segment where I discuss how Picker’s Grip feels to use, and why I think it can help you in keeping control over your pick.

#1 Preston Thompson Family Go Fund Me
We are a tight knit community of acoustic guitar players. As a part of this family, we try to help out our own when we can. Preston Thompson of Thompson Guitars was recently in the hospital. He’s on the road to recovery, but he and his family could definitely use some help. In this segment I give you details on how you can help Preston and his family out. We are thinking of you and sending you good vibes Thompson family!

good morning guys the stash looks great Noah
I travel weekly with my Taylor GS mini. I carry it on. Always. It goes in the overhead bin on larger planes or in the closet. I’ve never had a problem (Delta). The Taylor case is excellent. It’s a smaller guitar but a more than adequate therapy guitar for those days on the road.
Watching the show, it occurred to me that you know you’re a guitar geek when you ask yourself WWDD? (i.e., What would Dana do?).
#smallwin #bigwin Just ordered my first custom guitar. I chose Adam Buchwald at circle strings to build a tenor guitar (tuned cgda) with a sinker redwood top, mad rose back and sides, koa binding, and koa rosette🤗 I ordered my guitarsenal shirt and will send you a pic when it’s done.
P.S. I haven’t noticed any tenor guitar players featured on your show…are there any that you like?
I have always wondered why so many musicians have long hair. Are you all descendants of Sampson and get your power from uncut hair? I’m working on a ponytail at the present time and watching Acoustic Tuesday and taking Fretboard Wizard and I think it’s working. I’m getting better slowly. Do you think it’s the hair or the practice?
Thank you for the D tuning short lesson! I’m trying once again to learn Joni Mitchell’s Cactus Tree and this gives me the inspiration to ‘dig’ in! Judi Engel
Thanks for the short teaching of D tuning! I’m trying to learn, once again, Joni Mitchell’s Cactus Tree. This gave me some inspiration to ‘dig in”!
Thanks Tony!
#teaching: Have you explored the whole 432 Hz vs 440 Hz issue, vis a vis Sonic Geometry, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yimor2jRmCA) and applied your math mind to it? I have degrees in biology, history, and a law degree but math was always a full-contact sport in school so the “coincidences” are too many to ignore. Add the whole conspiracy theory element and it has my attention; wondering if it has yours.
Quiero participar en todo ésto
I love it
