#4 A Trip to the Blueridge Mountains
The question of what is the best entry level guitar has been posed to me many times before, and I wish I had one I could go to as the end all be all, but the truth of the matter is that there are a whole bunch of really exceptional entry and mid level guitars out there. So which ones should you consider?

That “Travis Picking with Don Ross” is a good one.
I feel like Tony was in my head this week. I saw Jeffery Foucault live two weeks ago in Anchorage AK and have kept him in a solid rotation along with Molly Tuttle. I’ve been listening to her for about a month on repeat. Also I’ve been looking for a rosewood dreadnought and been waffling between a D-28 and a blue ridge.
Get out of my head Tony!
#youknowyoureaguitargeekwhen you get a new Taylor guitar and keep the empty box. Then you cleverly use the box as a marker on the street to help your son learn to parallel park. Then you take a break in the house and when you come out, the trash recycling truck has picked up your box! #youknowyoureaguitargeekwhen you spend an HOUR on the phone with the trash hauling company to try and get the box back! (No dice.)
Unless I missed something here, Levy isn’t at his usual post. Wherever u are, Geekateer, hope you’re alright. Ain’t the same w/o you!
Thanks for noticing, Gilbert!! All is good:) I was in Toronto.
#YOU KNOW YOU’RE A GUITAR GEER WHEN#
I had a major surgery last week, and will not be able to hold the guitar for a while yet.
Now, was I concerned about getting behind at work? or recovery pain? or if the surgery would be successful? Nooooo.
All I cared about is figuring out a way to turn the baby martin into a lap steel for the duration. My pre surgery prep was ordering about five different slides to experiment with. Yeah sure, the living will and stuff got done, but seriously—slides.
So far the hardwood GS Shubb is the winner. Love to all- Claudia, your original “You Know You’re a Guitar Geek When…” Geekier every day.
#youknowyoureageetargeek when the person you’re conversing with mentions their arthritic finger joints, and you try to look concerned while seriptitiously feeling for any chipped fingernails.
