Hi Tony and Noah from Silver Spring, MD,
What is your opinion on manufacturers using Richlite for fretboards and bridges on high end guitars? Just curious if you have any comments on overall tonal quality and performance vs. ebony or rosewood.
Here’s another video with that same X30 in it. It also showcases several variations of the X30. After 3 minutes into the video they start playing the different versions. Listen to the whole thing. I have a fan fret X30 and consider it a D35 gas killer. https://www.facebook.com/EmeraldGuitarCompany/videos/1781953231949797/
Blackhawks #7 jersey! Tony is probably thinking of Brent Seabrook or maybe Chris Chellios. But Phil Esposito also wore #7, and after him, Pit Martin. And even the great Bobby Hall wore #7 for one season (1962-63).
How about featuring Michael Hedges some Tuesday. Anybody who hasn’t heard him really SHOULD.
BTW, heard Alex Degrassi last year – still incredible.
OOPS! Apologies – in hockey, it’s called a sweater, not a ‘jersey’. 😉
Sweater… Jersey… top… call it what you like. I want one! There is a stark contrast between a hockey match, and an acoustic set. I love both playing hockey, and guitar. I would enjoy taking it to the boards, wearing this sweater, as I listened to some acoustic guitar piped through my headphones. I may need to make an appointment to see my counselor.
Speaking of Michael Hedges, that’s who Yasmin Williams reminds me of. VERY cool!
Greetings from Worthington, Ohio!
Thanks to the whole Acoustic Tuesday Team & Congratulations on ANOTHER FUN SHOW!
“Ask Matt” Segment!!!
“Walking the Floor” with Chris Shiflett, Fantastic Podcast Recommendation!!!
REALLLLLY missing the Guitarsenal … So, to be fair, I’ve not yet contributed… SO I’ll be ordering my shirt to send in our “Fam- Guitarsenal” Pic featuring the whole Family’s collection!
I was involved in the TAC a for a short time a year ago, making consistent progress! Unfortunately, my wife of 26 years and 3 kids unexpectedly experienced a troubling time. Everyone is now happy, healthy & making every moment together matter!
Thank you specifically for each week creating an excitingly positive, fun guitar community episode for a Guitar Geek like myself to find some shelter over the last year.
Tony, I saw your item last week about the Nomad Strap Lock Adapter and think it’s great. But I don’t use strap locks on my acoustic. This D’Addario product is what I use instead and have never had the strap come off. I have a Fishman end pin socket so the strap never fit correctly until I got this. I love it!

Have you ever did a review on Zager Guitars???
@Noah: I suggest describing the current phase of Polecastro existence as honed Tone rather than fit/phit Tone 😀. P.s. love the show — thanks!
I was glad to hear Matt’s take on humidity. I have been using the Bodeva/D’Addario paks and keep my guitars in the case. I am in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area so while humidity is not too crazy, the temperature can be. Maybe if I win the lottery I can afford a controlled environment case or just do a climate controlled room to have the guitarsenal on display all the time.
Tell Tony to stay away from the nautical terms. Great show gentlemen, always entertaining.
#SHOWENDING – ok, here goes… end with a tony & noah “famJam” – come on, noah must have an acoustic bass by now, eh? perhaps extending this thought further with a goin’ down the road song….
Cheers, y’all from N’awlins!

Hello Tony, I really love seeing you showcasing the Guitar 4 Vets. I built a guitar for the Flight 93 10 year anniversary in 2011. They wanted me to share that guitar with the community so I contacted G4V and donated it to them. They came to Grand Rapids MI and picked up the guitar and my guitar building partner and I met some really cool dudes.
https://reverb.com/item/866527-custom-flight-93-memorial-acoustic-guitar is where they auctioned it off and it help a bunch of vets get guitars. Here’s another article about Don and I. https://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/2011/08/guitar_maker_crafts_special_in.html
This something I only want to share with you. It was something that touched me deeply and I want to thank you for your sharing of the G4V story.
Peace,
TW Felty
