Try Strap Lock. The lock is built into the strap and they work great on most every end pin I have come across and they are not that expensive on American Musical Supply.
Awesome new goalie gear Tony. (from your fellow goalie from the Shwa ). I’m working on a very special surprise for you for ALF2020.

Hi Tony & Noah, writing from southern CA. I have suggestions for ‘corrosive perspiration’. Try PrePlay and/or Dry-n-Glide from GraphTech (same people who make the Tusq picks). It’ll help save your strings and your guitar’s finish. Also keeps your hands dry, making it much easier to play or practice when it’s hot or humid. Highly recommended!
Vintage vs. new is a tough call. Certain vintage instruments are ‘magical’. But considering the cost, you can probably get more bang for your buck with a new guitar. There are some very nice instruments available now at reasonable prices. And for a few bucks more, there are small-batch luthiers who have really refined the art. You’ll also be supporting the people who are making great guitars right now.
Tony, I love the show and was looking for an Acoustic Tuesday Tee shirt.
Do you have this item?
Thx Glenn
Talk about ‘vintage’. My old guitar hero, John Renbourn. I listened to Pentangle as a kid. And then ultra-vintage with Scrapper Blackwell. Nice show!
Loved the Matt segement. This is the type of REAL that makes your show the best. Your passion is on display and appreciated.
I love watching your show. I wish I could afford some of the guitars you have reviewed on your show, but I am retired and that means limited funds. I played in a country band back in the 60’s and now that I am retired I’m going back to my guitars (currently two models of inexpensive guitars) and my plan is to play in church. One church has already said they want me to play when my fingers get back in shape for playing. Wish I could afford any of the guitars you have shown even one entry level guitar at $2000, maybe in another life time. Thanks Tony and Noah.
THANKS TONEY FOR ANOTHER GREAT PROGRAME
So, it’s been a while since any update on the pick board. Any update on the pick Board????????

Guitar Mishaps – but not from strap malfunction (ouch)! In a classic case, with clasps that have the latches with the protruding tab on top that goes into the lower portion of that latch: setting my guitar briefly only partially into the case as I am sorting out some other things (picks, etc. in compartment) before closing it. WHAM! Case lid slams down on the guitar, punching a hole slit into the top sound board the exact size and shape of the latch tab. Arggggh! But – life lesson learned.
Hea guys, just a little saddle soap on the strap end.
Oh yeah, we signed Vasi again. [maybe this year] GO LIGHTNING.

Watching AT 101 here in SLC and the 101 reminded me of a friend that raced stock cars at the fairs in east Idaho he always put the number 101 on his car. When I asked him why 101 he said no matter which way when you saw him rolling down the track when he wrecked you would always see 101 and you would know it was him. so I took the computer and turned it around and around and I could always tell it was you two no mater how many beers I’ve drank.
Great Ask Matt feature. And Pentagle, holy cow, thought I was the only one who loved them and I agree with Noah, her voice is mesmerizing.
Finally John Renbourn my hero for the last 40 something years, the duet albums with Stefan Grossman are among my favorite albums by him but there are so many. Still trying to get My Dear Boy half way decent before i die – maybe.
Tony,
Thanks for sharing John Renbourn’s music with us. Renbourn and Bert Jansch have been in my record collection for years. I also must tell you that I think I discovered Molly Tuttle about the same time you did. The way it happened was, i was searching youtube for videos on claw hammer banjo playing, when i came across this beautiful creature playing claw hammer guitar. It was Molly! For the next 3 hours, I watched every video of her I could find, and told everyone about her. When I heard her renedition of “Gentle On My Mind” I thought, John Hartford had written this song just for her, only 26 years before she was born!
I also want to share an artist with you! His name is Walt Wilkins. Walt is a singer/songwriter out of Austin, TX. The name of his band is The Mystiqueros. Walt, along with his wife, Tina, are among the most popular music acts in the state. His songwriting is truly amazing. His music has been likened to the greatest and most timeless of the Texas/American troubadours: Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, and Kevin Welch among others. His song “Trains I Missed” recorded by Balsam Range, won the 2011 IBMA SONG OF THE YEAR. His songs have been recorded by Pam Tillis, Kenny Rogers, Kelly Pickler, Pat Green, and many others. Please check him out.
Thanks,
